Milliken Allen Plant Expansion

Fluor is providing engineering, procurement and construction services for a new manufacturing facility at Milliken’s Allen Plant in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The project scope includes a new process manufacturing plant, utilities, warehouse and tank farm adjacent to Milliken’s existing operations.

This will be the largest chemical plant in Milliken’s history.

Client's Challenge

The new facility will produce the company’s proprietary Millad product to meet increased demand. The specialty chemical is used in a wide range of industries including food, cosmetics, office supplies and storage products.

Fluor's Solution

The Allen Plant expansion is the latest project in Fluor’s long-standing relationship with Milliken. Fluor’s Greenville, South Carolina office is leading the project after previously performing the preparatory engineering work. The project team will work closely with Milliken’s process engineers, leveraging experience from previous expansions.

Conclusion

The facility is expected to begin operations in 2021.
